Job Title: Traffic Producer/Reporter

Department: Programming

Reporting To: Brand Manager

Employment Type: PartTime

Pay Transparency: $23.56/Hr. $32.40/Hr.

Location(s): Chicago IL

Work Arrangement: OnSite

The anticipated starting salary range for Illinoisbased individuals expressing interest in this position is $22.20/Hr and $30.53/Hr.

Salary to be determined by the education experience knowledge skills abilities and location of the applicant as well as internal and external equity.

Overview:

The WBBMAM Traffic Center is looking for a dynamic and talented professional to work in a fast paced environment as a traffic producer/reporter. Producer duties include: gather write and select traffic information to run in onair radio traffic reports on line and on social media platforms. Be able to manage multiple scanner frequencies digital platforms & maps for the production writing and presentation of traffic reports and digital content. Reporter duties may include sports reporting.

Responsibilities

What Youll Do:

  • Gathering writing recording editing and delivering traffic reports as outlined by Audacy Inc.
  • Monitoring of traffic gathering assets (ie: traffic camera imagery scanner listening etc).
  • Post edit and manage traffic information to Audacy social media accounts (ie: Twitter etc).
  • Voicing traffic reports on Audacy stations to air on broadcast and digital platforms.
  • Provide live reads of traffic sponsors within designated reports by the company including logging commercials and discrepancies.
  • Other duties as required by management.
  • This position offers AFTRA benefits and applicant must be willing to join SAG AFTRA union.

Qualifications

More About You:

Required & Preferred:

  • A valid drivers license satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check and if the position requires use of applicants own vehicle proof of insurance is required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Chicago area and traffic geography.
  • Minimum of 2 year traffic news and/or sports reporting for broadcast media.
  • Must be computer literate and have excellent writing and presentation skills.

Preferred:

  • Ability to gather traffic information is a must.
  • Knowledge of the broadcast area geography and transportation systems is essential.

Role Expectations (included but not limited to):

  • StudioBased Reporting: Work from the studio to mitigate risks associated with internet or power outages that could disrupt reporting. Utilize the studios backup power and resources to ensure continuous operation.
  • Receive and Respond to Traffic Tips: Handle listener tip calls regarding traffic information received by phone in the studio.
  • InPerson Engagement: Collaborate directly with editors and news anchors to facilitate quick communication and coordination especially in urgent traffic news situations.
  • Enhance Ratings through Studio Work: Contribute to improved PPM (Portable People Meter) results by delivering uncompressed audio reports from the studio which positively impacts overall station ratings.
