Job Description
This unique Equestrian Resort just outside the Horse Capital of the World is seeking an assistant manager to join their team! This person will enjoy a lot of versatility in their day. Responsibilities will include assisting with daily barn chores grooming and tacking horses helping guests mount and dismount leading rides and managing and executing riding/training schedules for the horses. This person will also have the opportunity to assist with the daily administrative functions of the program as well as the development and implementation of new service offerings and general program growth. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a barn be comfortable handling and riding/training/driving horses have experience matching horses with riders be able to follow directions and be able to take on a leadership role as needed. This person should feel comfortable working independently or as a team both in and out of the barn. Ensuring excellent customer service providing for the wellbeing of the horses and fostering a strong team atmosphere is key. Knowledge of Florida wildlife is a plus. The program Manager maintains showbarn quality standards for her barn and horses and a keen attention to detail is required.
Job Duties
Turning out/bringing in horses/ feeding & watering horses
Mucking barn stalls paddocks cleaning tack horses
Grooming bathing wound & injury care
Inventory management ordering
Tacking /untacking horses (English and Western)
Leading trail rides & assisting guests with mounting / dismounting horses demonstrating how to steer and stop the horse and acclimating guests to their horse
Assist with the development of an expanded trail riding operation including lessons camps & other activities
Office work such as horse medical records booking system schedule changes emails guest communications reports and financials.
Program development activities such as designing and implementing new attractions generating marketing materials promoting the program through events and presenting plans to leadership.
