This unique opportunity establishes the foundation for arewarding careerin building code enforcement with the City of Milwaukee!

This is a fulltime twoyear paid position with benefitsthat combines classroom training with onthejob experience to prepareindividuals for Code Enforcement Inspector positions. The Intern ProgramCurriculum described under the minimum requirements below consists ofapproximately 31 college credits in the fields of English social sciencesmath computers architecture and code enforcement.

Current Salary

The current starting salary (Pay Range 8AN) is $42726annuallyand the current resident incentive starting salary for City of Milwaukeeresidents is $44008annually. Appointment will be made in accordance withthe provisions of the salary ordinance.

*Upon successful completion of the CEI Program incumbentsmay be promoted to Commercial Code Enforcement Inspector or Residential CodeEnforcement Inspector (Pay Range 7AN) for which the current starting salary is$51816 and the starting salary for City of Milwaukee residents is $53371.

THE SELECTION PROCESSwill be job related and willconsist of one or more of the following: an evaluation of education experienceand/or responses to supplemental questions; a written or performance test astructured interview or other assessment methods. The Department of EmployeeRelations reserves the right to call only the most qualified candidates tostructured interviews and performance examinations. Structured interviews mayinclude written exercises. Selection process component weights will bedetermined by further analysis of the job.
