Responsibilities
Functions independently to perform Psychiatric Admission Assessments to include a provisional admitting diagnosis medical history precipitant to treatment mental status strengths barriers and specific treatment interventions.
Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatment modalities.
Records daily assessment findings formulates plan and prognosis based on patients condition. All service recipient documentation is to be completed fully daily.
Participates in family meetings and educating families about use of prescribed medications and treatments.
Formulates an initial diagnosis and treatment plan for individuals with common mental health problems.
Provides support psychotherapy and supportive counseling for clients in regards to psychosocial environmental and physical wellbeing.
Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patients needs.
Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff which allows for consultation collaboration and/or referral.
Provides proportionate share of call coverage in call group including when other physicians are unavailable due to weekend coverage vacations holidays illness or attendance to professional duties.
Active member of the MultiDisciplinary Treatment Team Meetings.
Participates in weekly Utilization Review Meetings.
Cooperates in reimbursement utilization review peer review and other requirements of thirdparty payers; cooperates in obtaining payment from thirdparty payers including Medicare Medicaid health maintenance organizations health benefit plans insurance companies and Accountable Care Organizations.
Completes Peer Review process with Insurance Companies when required.
Coordinates discharge planning process with multidisciplinary team. Prepares discharge summary to be sent to the next level of care providers within 14 days of discharge.
