Through its affiliate Peachtree Group Hospitality Management Peachtree manages the performance of 100 hotels across 27 brands with 14000 rooms in 26 states.

Position Overview

The Director of Hotel Accounting Services is responsible for the flow of financial accounting and reporting of property operating entities and all related affiliate entities that are managed by Peachtree Hospitality Management. The position requires proven analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain general ledger books and records for managed real estate entities and their related affiliate ownership entities as well as for third party owned

Coordinate and manage the monthend financial reporting process with Operations; conduct financial reviews and resolution of issues/discrepancies

Develop and conduct ongoing training sessions for Accountants and hotel General Managers to ensure consistency and compliance with company policies and standards

Ensure property level payroll and benefits are properly allocated and recorded to appropriate departmental lines

Responsible for setup of onboarding of new assets acquired or placed in service

Establish credit card processing and connectivity with hotel branded POS systems

Responsible for ensuring a controlled transition and winddown for assets that are sold

Ensure all sales tax filings are made accurately and timely

Coordinate the cash management for property entities

May assist with periodic loan compliance reporting for managed properties

Manage the accounts payable/cash disbursement process for all property related entities

Coordinate Internal Audits of the properties; manage the implementation and resolution of findings

Coordinate Cost Segregation Studies for newly acquired assets; record appropriate adjustments to asset values

Administration of the M3 Accounting System

Responsible for onboarding of new assets acquired or placed in service including establishment of credit card processing and connectivity with hotel branded POS systems

Responsible for ensuring a controlled transition and winddown for assets that are sold

Partner with President of Operations to support the Annual Budget Process and upload budgets to the M3 Accounting System

Prepare work papers and provide support for Annual Tax Returns

Prepare work papers and provide support for Annual Audits

Coordinate annual 1099 reporting

Support HR team with the implementation and compliance with policy and process changes (such as employee benefits software etc.

Document standard operating procedures and policies

Initiate develop and implement ongoing process improvement

Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Preferred

  • Bachelors degree in finance/accounting or related field.
  • High level of proficiency with financial accounting software such as M3 Microsoft Office particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in the hotel accounting profession.
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory/team leadership experience.
  • Exemplary communications (verbal and written) organization and presentation skills
  • Exceptional project management skills. Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to work effectively in teams or independently
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Customer service orientation that is reflected in responsiveness and timely follow up with company executives and team leads.
  • Collaborative approach with business partners at all levels of the organization.
