GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Wyomings Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Section provides communitybased options to Wyoming citizens who are aging or have disabilities in order to live independent meaningful and dignified lives through access to personcentered costeffective services. These Medicaid waivers serve approximately 5000 individuals with approximately 800 provider entities supporting these individuals across the state. Each of the three HCBS waivers the Comprehensive Supports and Community Choices Waiverare Medicaid funded jointly funded by the state and federal governments. The Home and CommunityBased Services (HCBS) Section within the Wyoming Division of Healthcare Financing which is part of the Wyoming Department of Health manages these waivers.
The HCBS Quality Assurance Specialist will collaborate with providers and case managers to resolve billing issues by utilizing various software tools. This role also involves reviewing federal and state policies assisting in testing data system changes and supporting data analysis and requests. All these efforts are aimed at enhancing the services provided to HCBS waiver participants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.- Triage billing challenges and coordinate timely plans for resolution. Refer problems and ask questions of the supervisor as appropriate.
- Analyze state and federal policy and program changes and requirements to determine system impact. Coordinate communication between systems regarding changes oversee implementation and troubleshoot challenges that arise.
- Coordinate HCBS quality measures to ensure appropriate and accurate reporting tracking and remediation occurs.
- Participate in testing of data system changes.
- Complete data requests upon request.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to candidates with an associates degree in Computer Information Systems Computer Science Data Analytics Information Technology or other related degrees.
KNOWLEDGE:- Strong skills in Microsoft Suite.
- Strong skills in Google applications.
- Excellent customer service oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to pay attention to details.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Utilize analytical thinking and step logic to solve problems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Bachelors Degree (typically in Human Services)Experience:01 year of progressive work experience (typically in Benefits and Eligibility)OREducation & ExperienceSubstitution:34 years of progressive work experience (typically in Benefits and Eligibility)Certificates Licenses Registrations:NoneNecessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:- The employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however there may be some walking standing bending carrying light items driving an automobile etc.
