Your work environment at EXP
In this role you will be a part of aBuilding Structuresfocusedteam and reporting to the Director of Building Structures in the Dallas TX office.
The Building Structures team executes projects throughout the United States and several US Territories. In addition opportunities to support nonUS based teams within EXP should be expected.
The successful candidate will be able to work as with a diverse team inhouse team of professionals and subconsultants throughout the country in all disciplines. You will work and collaborate with experienced members of the Building Structures team for mentoring and career development.
The chosen candidate should expect engagement in a variety of project types. Major market sectors include but are not limited to mission critical buildings aviation light passenger rail facilities and commercial building design.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Generally take direction from senior engineers and project leads. Expect autonomy and independence to be commensurate with experience.
- Calculations sketches drawing production specifications multidiscipline coordination should be expected on a regular basis.
- Conducting observations of and evaluating existing conditions in both the field and via existing historical drawings are commonplace.
- Expect to work on multiple projects concurrently that require coordination of work between multiple EXP offices as well as outside consultants.
- Occasional shortterm travel to project sites. Usually a single night or two at a time.
- Flexible hours and hybrid office attendance.
What your experience looks like
- Targeted experience level is 05 years with a focus on building design.
- Possess a solid understanding of various structural analysis software such as RAM RISA ETABS.
- Possess strong Revit skills in both modeling and sheet creation at a minimum. Additional skills on items such as family creation knowledge of parameter use and templates is a plus.
- Working towards EIT or PE
- Masters degree in Structural Engineering is preferred. A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering w/ an emphasis on structures and/or relevant advanced coursework is considered a minimum requirement.
- Hold excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possess the ability to write persuasively and communicate technical subject matter in a concise and comprehendible manner to a less technical audience.
