Job Description

Directly reporting to the Site Supervisor as a Plant Mechanic with Regional Group Australia you will work within Maas workshops for all internal repairs and maintenance or as directed.

The Plant Mechanic is responsible for ongoing repairs and maintenance of the Maas fleet. The role will consist of scheduled and priority repairs along with preventative maintenance schedules and annual roadworthy inspections.

  • 2/1 Roster (FIFO available flights and accommodation provided)

Key responsibilities:

  • Continuous Improvement for Safe Work practices.
  • Participation in all toolbox meetings
  • Work within workshop rules and regulations at all times.
  • Liaising with direct managers supervisors and managers daily.
  • Thoroughly diagnose and repair faults.
  • Service and maintain equipment of plant and truck fleet.
  • Work to tight schedules whilst maintaining the highest standards.
  • Adopt and continue with lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency with all repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with planning and maintaining service schedules.
  • Maintaining company tools and equipment.
  • Ownership of major repairs working efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Challenge yourself with a mindset of best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining professional and clear communication with all company staff.

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Current Rigid drivers license (Service Vehicle)
  • Fully qualified as a qualified HD Mechanic.
  • Sound knowledge of drivetrain brakes and suspension.
  • Sound knowledge of Plant Equipment
  • Basic auto electrical knowledge.
  • Competent with computers and digital diagnostics.
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to getting the job done.
  • Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety.
  • A professional confident and selfassured person with the ability to demonstrate flexibility and apply learnings to improve workshop processes.
  • A team player who is action focused and resultoriented who quickly comes up to speed on repairs and priority breakdowns.
  • Ability to problem solve and engage their peers to achieve best possible outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals.
  • Experience in working in a highperformance team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Full working rights within Australia.
