Production Supervisor 2nd Shift
The Production Supervisor is a vital role within our manufacturing facility responsible for overseeing the operations of the second shift team. This position ensures that production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The Production Supervisor will lead a group of operators and technicians managing daytoday activities to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the production process. With the ability to adapt to a fastpaced environment the ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues related to production workflow and personnel management.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff during the 2nd shift.
- Ensure that production targets and deadlines are consistently met.
- Monitor production processes and equipment performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement and enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Train and mentor team members on operational procedures and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols.
- Prepare and submit production reports outlining achievements and areas of concern.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
- Assist in managing inventory levels and overseeing material requirements.
- Facilitate team meetings to discuss production performance and address any challenges.
- Address personnel issues and provide conflict resolution among team members.
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained for all production activities.
- Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Support upper management in special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Act as the point of contact for shiftrelated concerns and communications.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of production processes and methodologies.
- Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations in manufacturing.
- Proficient in using production management software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and standards.
- Experience in lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends if needed.
- Basic computer proficiency including MS Office.
