The Cardiovascular Specialist will deliver exceptional and streamlined patient care during Electrophysiology Lab procedures by documenting circulating and scrubbing. The Electrophysiology Lab at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center performs various procedures such as catheter ablations LAA closures device implants and laser lead extractions for patients who have electrical system disorders of the heart.
Position Highlights
- Shift Schedule:FullTime Days MondayFriday (Rotating 4 10hour shifts) Occasional Saturdays and no oncall!
- SignOn Bonus:This position qualifies for a $10000 sign on bonus provided the candidate meets the eligibility requirements.
- Unit:Electrophysiology Lab Specialized department focused on the various electrical disorders of the heart including heart rhythm disorders.

Education Requirements
- Completion of Accredited Nursing program current license as a Registered Nurse in NC and two years of RN experience
or - Completion of an Allied Health Technology Program (Radiologic Technology Respiratory Therapy etc. registry or license as it pertains to field of expertise with two years experience in Electrophysiology or Cardiac Catheterization Lab
or - Completion of Cardiovascular Interventional Program
Experience/Certification Requirements
- CPR certification upon hire; ACLS certification within 90 days
- Proficient in procedure room roles (Circulator Recorder Scrubbing)
- Competencies in:
- Ablation and device room setup
- Simple ablation and device procedures
- TEE guided cardioversions
- Implantable Loop Recorders
- Professional communication skills with diverse age groups
- Analytical skills for scheduling equipment and instruction comprehension

- Record Keeping:Complete & maintain accurate departmental records and logs in a timely manner by entering patient data and charges into electronic system and safeguard patient privacy & confidentiality.
- Communication:Maintain professional relationship with patients families and colleagues through effective communication and responsiveness; sensitively address conflicts &concerns as needed.
- Patient Care:Monitor & evaluate patient stability during procedures administer medications & treatments under supervision and assist with advanced procedures.
- Education & Consultation:Offer mentorship and support to coworkers & trainees participate in Continuing Education & inservice opportunities and performs / maintains assigned pointofcare testing and annual competencies.
- AgeSpecific Care:Provide ageappropriate care considering physical mental and developmental factors; Regularly update knowledge on agespecific guidelines.
