Location: Hot Springs
Salary: $33.37 $39.14 per hour depending on experience plus $5.00 per hour shift pay for night shifts / plus $1.50 per hour weekend pay.
Pay Grade: N1 N2

The Veterans Home RN is an important and valuable member to the South Dakota Veterans Home by taking care of Americas Heroes by providing professional nursing services that require the application of basic nursing principles practices and techniques that follow established healthcare procedures and standards. Successful candidates work in a longterm care setting at the South Dakota State Veterans Home and operate in a patient care environment where the focus is on the healthcare of individuals. Pay rate and classification level will be determined by combination of education and experience. Responsibilities in the higher classification will be similar; however complexity and oversight may change.
Potential of reduced tuition for continuing education and some flexibility of shift may be available. Onsite lowcost housing may be available. The cost is dependent on square footage.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must be licensed and able to work as a registered nurse in South Dakota.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Registered Nurse License and associate degree bachelor degree or 3year diploma. New graduates welcome. Onthejob training is available. All certificates and/or tests required for performance at this level must be obtained and/or completed.
Knowledge of:
This position is eligible for Veterans Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment.
Successful applicant(s) will undergo an abuse and neglect screening.
Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening .
