JOB SUMMARY: The Program Supervisor leads a team of Shelter Monitors in the operation of a 24/7 mens homeless shelter in accordance with Agency Policies and Procedures 801 East Mens Shelter Program Rules Agency contractual requirements and best practices.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Provides administrative supervision of up to 10 fulltime and 4 parttime staff. Provides functional supervision of the shelter staff on duty to 12 staff with the potential to surge up to 24 staff shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Functionally supervise by leading a team of Shelter Monitors on an 8hour shift in the safe and orderly operation of a 24/7 adult mens shelter with approximately 250 clients on a given shift.
- Provide administrative supervision to assigned Shelter Monitors (direct reports).
- Oversee and maintain quality program practices ensuring compliance with best practice standards contract grant requirements and agency practices and procedures.
- Perform liaison activities with community.
- Coordinate the preparation and timely submission of all external and internal program reports. Ensure prompt and accurate submission of incident reports.
- Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- High School or GED required.
- 2 years of direct service experience working with the adult homeless or other vulnerable population.
- 3 years of both administrative and functional supervision experience of at least 5 subordinates.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to determine and meet program and client. Knowledge of methods used to determine and provide customer
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing verbally and conducting presentations.
- Skill to operate jobrelated equipment including the use of computer systems (MS Office products) including Excel Outlook Credible and remote access.
* Work is normally performed in a typical residential facility.
