Job Description
Zoox is transforming transportation with a mission to build autonomous robotaxis from the ground updelivering a safer cleaner more reliable and enjoyable future for all.
The Analytics Platform established in late 2024 as part of the Data Infrastructure team has been redefining the foundation of data analysis and metrics to enable machine learning data science engineering and safety analysis with modern big data technologies. The team has been developing Zooxs schedulebased and eventbased data processing platforms using technology such as AWS Databricks Spark Parquet and DuckDB for multiple teams to transform several PBs of structured data into more efficient and queryable data formats.
By joining this team youll collaborate with a worldclass group of software engineers to tackle complex challenges at the scale of hundreds of petabytes of data pushing the boundaries of whats possible in autonomous transportation.
In this role you will:
- Develop features for Zooxs eventbased processing framework to process a large volume of data with complex dependencies.
- Develop features for the schedulebased processing framework which is built on top of Airflow Spark AWS EMR and DuckDB.
- Build up system observability for performance and reliability monitoring and success measurement.
- Analyze and optimize the latency and resource efficiency of the infrastructure you will develop.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teamsincluding software engineers data engineers and TPMs to gather requirements design robust architectures and implement effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of industry experience in software engineering
- Strong background in Python and Spark for largescale data processing
- A key contributor to the architecture and implementation of eventbased or stream processing projects
- Experience with AWS services especially S3 and ECS
- Experience with Databricks and Apache Airflow

- Working knowledge of C
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $215000 to $300000. A signon bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling as well as positioning within a level is determined by a range of factors including but not limited to a candidates relevant years of experience domain knowledge and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
