Job Description

Occupational Therapist Grade 1

Permanent Part Time or Full Time

Up to 80 hours per fortnight Multiple Positions Available

Classification: Dependent on Experience

Award: Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement

This is a great opportunity for a suitable qualified Occupational Therapist Grade 1 to join the team in Community Services at MDHS working in a permanent position! In this role you will be responsible for providing a range of Occupational Therapy services including community acute Transitional Care Program (TCP) residential aged care and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) across the MDHS catchment area. In this diverse role you will be provided with clinical supervision and professional development opportunities. New graduates are welcome to apply! Exciting opportunity for new graduate or early career Occupational Therapist to join our supportive Allied Health team.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications / Experience

  1. Relevant tertiary qualification to work as an Occupational Therapist.
  2. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  3. Eligibility to be registered as an Occupational Therapist under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  4. Eligibility to be a member of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists

Specialist Expertise

  1. Knowledge and/or ability to assess and provide broadbased Occupational Therapy interventions for clients/patients/residents especially in relation to activities of daily living (ADLs)
  2. Understanding and/or experience of working and communicating with clients/patients/residents from various backgrounds.
  3. Demonstrated experience in working within a multidisciplinary environment as well as working autonomously.
  4. Understanding and commitment to practice that reflects evidencebased treatment and clientcentred work.
  5. Demonstrated evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice.

Personal Qualities

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication including computer skills.
