About The Role:
We have an opportunity for an experienced Power Station Operator/Maintainer (Instrumentation & Electrical) to join our Karrathabased power station on a permanent fulltime basis.
Reporting to the Station Supervisor the successful candidate will be responsible for the continuous operation of 42MW LM6000 gas turbines and associated plant and equipment including responding to plant upsets and failures. Further you will utilise your skill set to support and participate directly in the ongoing maintenance upgrades administration and management of the station. A small team of permanent technicians administration and with support of a contract workforce as needed makes for an enjoyable safe challenged and capable team who share technical expertise of almost all facets of the operation.
Working a 10hr weekday roster including 2 RDOs within the fortnight.
Occasional shutdown work and extended hours
Callout roster for night and weekend coverage approximately 1 week in four however flexibility is required for coverage as needed.
4 weeks annual leave
What You Will Contribute To:
Monitoring and maintaining plant and systems for safe steady state and reliable operations.
Carrying out routine planned major and unplanned maintenance tasks as directed and repair/maintain equipment up to level of skill and qualification
Investigate troubleshooting and recommending solutions to operational problems with the aim of returning plant to service as soon as possible (where it has shutdown unexpectedly)
Developing authorising and holding work permits and isolation schemes associated with all maintenance and operational work
Planning and of major and minor plant shutdown activities
Developing standard operating procedures and maintenance procedures as directed
Supervision of work performed by contractors and other service providers
Monitoring spares and consumable levels and take action to correct
Participating in and managing station projects
What You Will Bring:
WA electrical License
Instrumentation qualification HV Operator (preferred)
Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (preferred)
5 10 years power station process or similar industry experience
A safe work approach and good understanding of safety systems.
The ability to work effectively in a small team
A flexible and team supportive approach is required
Strong technical ability and willingness to learn
Broad skills and general trade knowledge advantageous
Good written and oral communication skills
