As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank you will be joining our Cloud Platform Engineering tribe which is at the heart of a cuttingedge cloudnative AWS infrastructure that powers the Chase UK bank that is trusted by over 2 million customers. You will be exposed to a wide spectrum of platform technologies such as Kubernetes clusters connectivity databases and messaging. This confers opportunities to create automations and new functionality to eliminate toil and improve our developer experience.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers who develop the cloud platform with a focus on security and controls to ensure banking operations remain compliant with regulations.
- Engage educate and direct stakeholders that focus on the control and compliance aspects of the platform.
- Maintain and enhance our cloud platform for application developers and provide support to enforce controls in their SDLC and developer experience with the minimum of manual intervention and maximum automation.
- Manage and interact with vendors and other areas of the business to plan improvements and coordinate project efforts.
- Provide advisory services as the most senior cloud engineer in the region.
- Participate in oncall rota (third line).
- Own relevant compliance aspects of the cloud platform.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on AWS concepts and 10 years applied experience. In addition 5 years of experience leading technologists to manage anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Extensive experience developing and maintaining applications in the public cloud (we use AWS)
- Extensive experience managing multiregion public cloud infrastructure using infraascode technologies (we use Terraform)
- Expert level knowledge of Kubernetes clusters operations and deployment (we use EKS) and programming using a modern language (Java/Python/Go)
- Experience delivering cloud infrastructure projects from design to operational stages. Principal engineers experience comfortable designing solutions at scale
- Excellent understanding of DevOps principles and SDLC best practices
- Able to drive change and influence MD/Clevel leadership in various forums
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
- Experience building and managing teams of medium to large size
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Expert with software engineering security best practices in a cloud environment
- Formal training or certification on developing and maintaining applications in the public cloud concepts and proficient advanced experience
- Automation and selfservice mindset to drive change
- Experience replicating high standards across multiple technology domains
- Experience with controls in a regulated industry preferably retail banking
