IT Security Engineer: Plan and carry out security measures to protect our organizations computer networks and systems. Responsibilities will continually expand as the number of cyberattacks increase. Monitor organizations network for security breaches and investigate a violation when one occurs. Install and use software such as firewalls and data encryption programs to protect sensitive information. Prepare reports that document security breaches and the extend of the damage caused by the breaches. Conduct penetration testing which is when analyst simulate attacks to look for vulnerabilities in their systems before they can be exploited. Research the latest information technology (IT) security trends. Develop security standards and best practices for their organization. Recommend security enhancements. Help computer users when they need to install or learn about new security products and procedures. Requires a Bachelors in Computer Science Information Assurance or related field together with 24 months of experience in Information Security Management with exposure to infrastructure and system security scanning and vulnerability management and remediation server management or end user device security and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of two years of information security management required with exposure to infrastructure and system security security scanning and vulnerability management and remediation server management or end user deuce security required.
Bachelors degree or equivalent required.
Bachelors degree in Information Assurance Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience combined required.
(One year of experience equals one year of education.
Microsoft Office Suite knowledge is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Information security management in a large academic healthcare center preferred.
HIPAA compliance management GLBA compliance management or PCI compliance management preferred.
Masters degree or equivalent preferred.
SANS Critical Security Controls or CISSP is preferred.
