DYS is the juvenile corrections system for the state of Ohio. DYS is statutorily mandated to confine felony offenders ages 1021 who have been adjudicated and committed by one of Ohios 88 county juvenile courts. DYS is seeking a Behavioral Healthcare Provider Supervisor 1 to oversee facility behavioral healthcare functions. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid background and a passion to habilitate youth.
Specifically the BHP Supervisor 1 will:
- Works under the general direction of the Chief of Behavioral Health Services (BHS) to plan develop coordinate implement monitor and evaluate BHS treatment and programs; Incumbents may perform some or all of these duties or other jobrelated duties as assigned. Supervises behavioral healthcare providers correction specialists or correctional program specialists &/or correctional program coordinators assigned to one or two program units &/or in community (e.g. intensive treatment geriatrics) oversees treatment activities of staff coordinates activities of other behavioral healthcare services personnel provides training supervision evaluation counseling & case management & performs personnel management tasks including recruitment interviewing training & recommendations for hire.
- Serve as liaison and consultative support to all facilities and regional offices in conjunction with BHS operations; serve as DYS liaison to state local and community agencies whose primary focus is behavioral health services of youthful offenders.
- Serves on committees (e.g. program development policy formulation legal procedures) & maintains & develops network of programs of other facilities agencies & support services in order to coordinate referrals & conduct followup service.
