Position Summary
The Department of Maternal & Child Health MCH in the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks to hire one Assistant Professor and Associate Professor tenuretrack faculty member. MCH is an interdisciplinary field and spans traditional public health disciplines such as epidemiology health policy health behavior along with practiceoriented approaches and content areas related to the health of women children adolescents and related to sexual and reproductive health. Outstanding candidates will have expertise applying interdisciplinary methods to the study of health among many different populations. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work aligns with a broad view of MCH complements implementation science and communityengaged research and who bring expertise in applying technologybased approaches to improve health outcomes. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an independently funded research program teach and mentor graduate students at the masters and doctoral levels provide academic advising and foster partnerships within the department across the Gillings School and with community and global partners. Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in a relevant field have a strong record of (or clear potential for) highimpact scholarship.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Candidates for the rank of Assistant Professor must demonstrate strong potential to become independent investigator teacher and mentor. Candidates for the rank of Associate Professor must have a strong record of scholarship including substantial experience as a principal investigator and key collaborator on research a funded research program and a strong record of teaching and mentoring graduate students.
