Job Summary
This is a medical cardiology role. The APP is expected to manage patients periprocedurally but does not perform procedures.
Pineville is a STEMI Center. APP is expected to manage primarily interventional patients presenting with ACS although is expected to be proficient in general cardiology and pulmonary embolism management.
Schedule consists of four 10hour shifts per week rotating between inpatient and outpatient care. No night or call.
In the outpatient setting the APP is expected to independently see 14 patients in a 10hour shift.
Travel to other sites may be required.
Essential Functions
Effective communication with a teambased style approach and a strong independent work ethic.
The APP in this setting will function at the top of their license in the hospital and clinic with a supervising MD and other members of a multidisciplinary team.
In the inpatient setting the APP is expected to perform admission rounding consult and discharge notes on patients.
Manage acute problems that arise including changes in patient status nursing calls patient calls codes and RRTs for SHVI patients.
Facilitate and order diagnostic studies as indicated including ECGs Echocardiogram Stress test and cardiac catheterization.
Opportunities to participate in committees especially those around improving care for individual service line.
APP is expected to participate in education of APP fellows MD students residents or in onboarding of new APPs.
Attend and participate in Atrium Health and Sanger required meetings education development sessions.
Position Qualifications
1 years of experience as a provider required; Cardiology experience preferred.
Nurse Practitioner: Masters Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as RN required. Certification in practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. ACNP or AGACNP is required based on population served.
Physician Assistant: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; Masters Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
ACLS and BLS certifications.

About Pineville
The SHVI Pineville campus is a 235bed tertiary care center which supports South Charlotte and surrounding communities. Pineville is 1 of 3 STEMI centers with a growing Cardiac ICU presence.
There are 4 physicians and 2 APPs currently on the Pineville team as a broader group of 15 MDs and 11 APPs on the Interventional Team.
Subspecialties within SHVI at Pineville include General Cardiology Interventional Electrophysiology Advanced Heart Failure Vascular and CT Surgery.
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking standing sitting lifting reaching bending stooping pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients medical equipment and supplies. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess intact sense of sight hearing smell touch and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to react and perform in stressful situations
