Supervises federal excise state and local sales and property tax compliance and reconciliation. Prepares complex accounting analyses and provides accounting support. Delivers technical support and maintains data in applications servicing CoBank/Farm Credit Leasing (FCL) operations. Provides analytical research transaction structure communications and other support to Relationship Managers closing teams and other associates regarding lease portfolio. Responsible for federal excise and state and local sales and/or property tax audits.
1. Prepares or reviews federal excise state and local sales/use tax and personal property tax returns.
2. Maintains data and ensures data integrity in PTMS (Property Tax Management System) Vertex O Series and Vertex Returns (sales and use tax) systems.
3. Queries data from corporate data warehouse and tax systems to respond to tax inquiries and audits.
4. Performs research and analysis in areas of federal excise and state and local sales and property tax.
5. Assists in preparing technical correspondence and memoranda required by management external auditors and regulatory agencies.
6. Assists in providing technical support to lease operations regarding lease classification and structuring matters and issues regarding federal excise state and local sales and property tax.
7. Interacts with CoBank associates customers state and local Departments of Revenue and state and local assessors to resolve issues and maintain relationships.
8. Performs accounting functions including preparing month and yearend journal entries and reconciliations in accordance with CoBank procedures.
9. Responds to federal excise state and local sales/use tax and personal property tax audits.
10. Evaluates streamlines and documents tax processes. Identifies opportunities and implements solutions to improve tax department effectiveness and efficiency.
11. Trains and crosstrains with other associates on various compliance responsibilities.

Occasional Travel occurs infrequently (typically once a month or less).
The typical base pay range for this role is between $89600 $110160. Compensation may vary based on individual jobrelated knowledge skills expertise and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
