Pierce County Parks is hiring for a Temporary 6 month) Budget Management Analyst position to assist the team with a variety of budget and data analysis projects. How to be Successful in the Role:
To be successful in this role you will need to have experience not only in data analysis but also in budget monitoring and reporting. Your ability to work with internal stakeholders to gather information and use that data to develop processes and procedures for the Parks Department will be critical to your success. In this role you will need to have great time management skills and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Special Projects:
- Create departmental budget monitoring reports.
- Develop a methodology for distributing capital project manager time across multiple capital projects.
- This project will involve researching different approaches and vetting with the finance department to ensure our processes and procedures follow county best practices.
- Develop a process and template for capital project asset registration.
- Review data on timing of existing grants and map out workload tied to grant completion/success.
Core Daily Responsibilities:
- Conduct studies audits and analyses of current and proposed operations and programs.
- Research and analyze department/division operations and activities including special projects and studies and associated budgets. Identify proposed plan and carry out analytic projects.
- Produce complex spreadsheets models forecasts and cost calculations and develop and prepare written reports regarding research findings and recommendations. Prepare data visualization materials.
- Advise management regarding complex multidimensional issues while formulating and implementing strategic plans initiatives departmental policies goals objectives and performance standards.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelors degree in data analytics data science business administration economics mathematics or a closely related field.
- Two years of related experience performing business operation analysis budget analysis data visualization etc.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education is accepted.
