SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our OnTheJob Training program as a construction Laborer for projects in the Hamburg PA region. This role provides handson experience in the Highway Civil sector with a focus on highway and bridge construction. The position involves physically demanding tasks and requires outdoor work in various weather conditions.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist with tasks in the Highway Bridge and Heavy Civil sectors including but not limited to:
- Roadway grading
- Storm drain installation
- Concrete work (roadways curbs and sidewalks)
- Concrete structure forming operations
- Traffic control on interstate and secondary roads
- Safely operate manual gaspowered and airpowered tools as needed.
- Operate nonCDL vehicles as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to pass a preemployment DOT physical drug and alcohol screening.
- Strong problemsolving skills and ability to handle the technical aspects of the job.
- Demonstrated interest and aptitude for the construction trade.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Ability to follow instructions work well with others and maintain a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights weekends and overtime as needed.
- Basic experience with hand tools including a utility knife tape measure and claw hammer.
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments with exposure to heat cold and rain.
- Commitment to following all company safety policies and working in a safe manner.
