DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Grants Manager for the Division of Financial Operations Financial Services Administration. This position is responsible for the reconciliation projects for specific grants fund sources reports charts of accounts revenue and other FSAmanaged items. The Grants Manager will work closely with divisional support teams to develop project plans associated with each reconciliation activity; and develop templates guidelines and processes for grant management activities. This position identifies opportunities for administrationwide grant management improvement projects and activities and takes the lead to implement such projects; assigns tasks associated with teamspecific reconciliation projects to analysts and manages the workflow of the project; provides regular status updates to the reconciliation team lead/manager and programmatic team lead/manager; and works with the programmatic assistant team.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervises directs coordinates and manages the Departments Grants Management process.
Mentors new Accountants/Financial Analysts.
Liaisons with internal and external partners including governmental and nongovernmental organizations.
Develops and manages grant reconciliation process within FSA.
Oversees annual budget and required federal financial/programmatic reporting functions application of funds and analysis of data to develop spending plans for community partners.
Serves as an internal resource to FSA teams including engagement with team huddles and meetings related to the reconciliation efforts of specific grants.
Leads project teams for each reconciliation ensuring engagement and collaboration amongst the program FSA and grants team.
Monitors Federal and State legislation.
Identifies researches reviews analyzes and establishes possible impacts of proposed and pending Federal and State legislation policy changes GAAP impacts or funding modifications for assigned areas.
Knowledge of:
Developing longterm relationships with agencies and personnel individuals and representatives of various entities.
Federal State and local laws codes and regulations regarding SSBG and grants management.
Best practices in grant trends through reading research and participation in seminars and other educational opportunities and memberships in the field.
Skills in:
Collaborative work style with a high level of integrity flexibility and strong service mentality; and examining developing reengineering and recommending governing policies and procedures.
Project management; identifying problems and recommending solutions in a clear concise and proactive manner.
Computer software including spreadsheets word processing and presentation applications.
Ability to:
Demonstrate excellence in managing grants and financial reports vendor relationships fiscal and process control and reporting.
Plan implement and monitor grants in a workable and concise manner; understand interpret and communicate grant terminology.
Coordinate and communicate with parties involved in grant ongoing projects.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Masters Degree in Business Administration or Accounting or a closely related field.
One year experience at the Accountant 4.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business then the following requirements apply: Drivers License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid classappropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C. R210207.11.
Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the abovementioned process and the Agencys ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the LongTerm Disability (LTD) program after a 27week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for lifelong income upon retirement.
