Duties And Responsibilities
The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the scope of work is similar related or a logical assignment to this classification. 1. Provide instruction in Dental Assisting. 2. Implement skill building in the Dental Assisting lab setting. 3. Prepare class assignments and course work. 4. Grade student work. 5. Record and post grades in a timely fashion. 6. Report to the lead instructor as needed. 7. Consult with students during regularly scheduled office hours. 8. Participate in Dental Assisting team department and division meetings. 9. Assist in curriculum development and revision. 10. Perform other duties as required by contract collective bargaining agreements and general institutional needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a Bachelors degree AND two years of dental assisting experience OR an Associate degree AND six years of dental assisting experience OR the equivalent (see below) A current California Registered Dental Assistant license (in good standing) A current national Certified Dental Assistant license (in good standing) A current CPR certificate Demonstrated cultural competence sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students faculty and staff
