If you have an interest in gaining experience within the mental health residential services field this is the job for you. Marion County Health and Human Services is seeking a compassionate energetic and flexible individual to work in its Horizon House Residential Treatment Facility. This individual will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to provide PersonCentered mental health treatment services in a 24hour residential setting serving adults with serious and persistent mental illness or chemical dependency. This position is an opportunity to build experience working in a therapeutic milieu environment administering medications maintaining documentation and communication with staff and transporting residents as needed ODL is required. This is a potential opportunity to gain hours for credentialling. Temp/Oncall positions generally help cover 810hour shifts as needed the most emergent need is graveyard coverage. Temp/Oncall Aides are required to cover at least two shifts per month and may take on as many additional shifts as they are willing/able.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Assists in assessing health and social service needs of a specific population through home visits and visits to other agencies and social services resources; refers clients to appropriate resource; advocates to obtain required services as necessary; provides information and education on healthrelated issues.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general direction of a supervisor who assigns work establishes goals and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this class.

Typical Duties Duties include but are not limited to the following

  • Provide oversight and Mental Health services in a residential setting serving adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
  • Help to create and maintain a caring and supportive setting.
  • Monitor for emotional and behavioral changes to ensure resident and staff safety.
  • Facilitate group and individual skills training to assist in promoting community integration and recovery model approach (e.g. cooking budgeting shopping cleaning nutrition medications social skills communication).
  • Complete documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Coordinate and facilitate resident activities develop necessary appointments and community outings.
  • Transport clients as needed.
  • Administer medications and record in the MARS in accordance with Physician/PMHNP orders and Horizon policies and procedures.
  • Work effectively with case managers crisis workers families of residents and others involved to provide wellcoordinated treatment.
  • Perform shopping cleaning laundry and other housekeeping duties as needed. Provide meals and snacks as scheduled.
  • Other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Response Level 2:In the event of an emergency employee makes a reasonable effort to report to work. Employee may be required to perform duties outside of their regularly assigned duties. Employee may be requested to work an extended or flexible schedule. Staff at this response level must complete Incident Command System 100 and 700 online or inperson training.

Requirements for the Position

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
  1. Graduation from high school or equivalent; AND
  2. One year of experience (paid or unpaid) working with the client population served by the position or post high school training in health occupations behavioral or social sciences; OR
  3. Any satisfactory combination of work education training or experience relevant to the position as determined by Marion County.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Operates a motor vehicle; sits; stands; moves about the work area; climbs stairs; lifts up to 530 lbs.; pushes and pulls up to 530 lbs.; moves carts weighing up to 10 lbs.; carries items weighing up to 30 lbs. for up to 50 yards; keyboard operation; rapidmental/hand/eye coordination; speaks in clear and audible voice; reads at 12 point font; depth perception; ability to hear at a whispered level; may have exposure to chemicals (cleaning) and occasional secondhand smoke.

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS
Marion County is a qualifying public employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program fulltime employees working at the County may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Questions about your loan eligibility should be directed to your loan servicer or the US Department of Education.

VISA SPONSORSHIP
Marion County does not offer VISA sponsorship. Within three days of hireyou will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Securitys I9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States.
