The Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science at the University of San Diego (USD) invites applications for a full time Clinical Associate Professor (nontenuretrack) position. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal based on performance department needs and funding. The successful candidate will have an earned doctoral degree in nursing and experience teaching in a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. All courses are taught in person on campus at the University of San Diego.
Detailed Description:
Background check: Successful completion of a preemployment background check.
Degree Verification Requirement: Persons offered employment in this position will be required to provide official education transcripts for degree verification purposes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree PhD or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from an accredited school of nursing program.
Active California RN license.
At least two years of teaching experience in a DNP program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five or more years of teaching experience in higher education.
Experience in program administration student support and faculty coordination.
An active program of research or scholarly activity.
Experience teaching in classroom and hybrid/hyflex learning environments.
Demonstrated leadership experience in nursing education or clinical practice.
Performance Expectations:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Expertise in teaching theoretical and/or clinical aspects of nursing in an innovative learning environment.
Strong organizational and leadership skills to oversee programmatic initiatives and student progress.
Ability to integrate technology and evidencebased practices into teaching.
Special Conditions of Employment:
Successful completion of USDs onboarding requirements including but not limited to Basic Life Support (BLS) certification health and immunization requirements preemployment background check and drug screening.
Verification of degree and RN licensure.

Physical Demands:
The position requires the ability to sit lift carry push/pull reach exercise hand and finger dexterity read hear and articulate clearly using speech.
