The Management Department in the Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama invites applications for a fulltime nontenure track faculty position at the rank of instructor beginning August 16 2025.
Detailed Position Information
The Management Department in the Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama invites applications for a fulltime nontenure track Instructor of Management. This position will contribute significantly to our undergraduate and graduate programs by delivering highquality applied instruction in a variety of management disciplines. We seek a dynamic and experienced educator with a passion for student success and a commitment to bridging the gap between theory and practice.
Responsibilities:
Teaching: Deliver engaging and effective instruction in a range of management courses in two or more of the following areas:
o Organizational Behavior (OB) and Human Resource Management (HR): These courses focus on developing students conceptual diagnostic and interpersonal skills for managing human interactions within complex and diverse organizational settings.
o Strategic Management: These courses examine the managerial responsibilities associated with developing and implementing strategic plans and introduces students to the essential tools of strategic analysis.
o Entrepreneurship: These courses provide students with the foundational skills and knowledge necessary to launch and manage a successful business venture.
o Business Communication: These courses introduce students to the core principles of effective and efficient written communication in professional environments.
o Health Care Management and Analytics: These courses offer a comprehensive study of the U.S. health care delivery system emphasizing the historical context roles and interrelationships among providers consumers and governmental entities.
o International Business: These courses explore the diverse economic social cultural and legal environments across nations and their impact on the development and of business policy.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of course materials including case studies simulations and experiential learning activities.
Student Mentorship: Provide academic advising and mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students.
Service: Participate in departmental and college service activities including committee work and student organization advising.
Professional Development: Stay current with developments in management education and practice.
The position is nontenure earning for a threeyear term with the possibility of renewal based on funding availability and performance.
Minimum Qualifications
o Masters degree in Business Administration Management or a related field.
o Significant professional experience in a management role.
o Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to teach effectively in both traditional and online formats.
