Job Description
As a Principal Machinist you will have the opportunity to utilize mills lathes millturns and Swiss machines (among others) to produce closetolerance parts for our medical products. A major area of responsibility for this role will be the setup and operation of a variety of production machinery to produce closetolerance precision medical device parts with an emphasis on verifying and validating new setups for production and first piece runs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up advanced CNC machinery such as 4 and 5 axis mills Swiss machines Lathes with livetooling etc. and operate advanced multiaxis CNC equipment tools and accessories for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process component parts.
- Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at the rates established for a given operation
- Perform verification/validation of new setup programs for new product or preproduction parts. Perform inprocess and first piece inspection
- Complete offset adjustments to multiaxis equipment to ensure product conforms to strict tolerance
- Provides training and technical training to less experienced employees.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 710 years experience in operation CNC production equipment
- Must be able to read understand and interpret G and M codes.
- Live tooling
- Multiaxis machining
Knowledge Requirements:
- Ability to produce parts at maximum rates with zero defects
- Ability to optimize processes through continuous improvement efforts
- Blueprint reading
