The City of Abbotsfords IT Department seeking a selfmotivated GIS professional with a cando attitude. If you have experience working in a fastpaced environment and have proven technical skills wed love to have you join our team!
Reporting to the GIS Business Solutions Coordinator this position collaborates closely with our customers to understand how to achieve key business objectives by leveraging the Citys technological capabilities. As the successful candidate you will have considerable knowledge in Information Technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). You will work closely with City staff departmental leads and IT team members to develop functional and technical requirements to deliver modern digital business solutions using a continuous improvement approach. You have experience utilizing multiple technology platforms and software products (ESRI enterprise system FME and MS SQL). You have the ability to analyze current business processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and deliver improved customer experiences. You also maintain documentation and provide user support.
To be successful in this role you must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing. You also need to have strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workloads.
In order to be considered for this position you must have:
- Diploma in Business Geography or Computer Science combined with an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems or Bachelors degree in Geographic Information Systems.
- Three 3 years of direct experience implementing and supporting business applications conducting data analysis business requirements gathering and reporting preferably in the public sector;
This position is unionized CUPE Local 774 and the hourly rate of pay is from $44.11 to $51.86 per hour plus we offer a comprehensive competitive benefits package.
