The respiratory care discipline at Childrens is generating a new perspective with cuttingedge clinical and diagnostic services including the development of clinical treatment protocols for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. Respiratory care is provided in a collaborative environment where the clinical and technical expertise of the respiratory care staff is valued by nursing and physician professionals. Respiratory care staff are encouraged to participate in clinical and operational processes education of peers and patients and research activities. Respiratory care plays a vital role in Childrens national recognition for patient safety and familycentered care.
Respiratory therapists are involved in airway management ventilatory support (including high frequency and NAVA) asthma education point of care testing cystic fibrosis disease management and emergency respiratory interventions. We are a vital part of the rapid response team and the code team.

*Licensed with the State of Minnesota as a Respiratory Therapist.
*Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). Successful completion of the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) examination within 1 year of employment.
*Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
*PALS NRP certified or within 6 months of employment.
Education:
*Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or oncall work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
