In this key role you will oversee all technical activities related to highway design ensuring projects are completed efficiently and contribute to our organizations goals. Salary Range: $100000$155000 annually



Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience qualifications/education and other factors. The salary range is not necessarily reflective of the actual total compensation that may be earned nor promises any specific pay for any specific employee. Salary range excludes monetary value of benefits.



The primary function of this role is responsible for but not limited to the following:

Oversee the development design and of highway engineering projects ensuring compliance with industry standards regulations and client requirements.
Serve as the technical expert and guide the team on best practices and issue resolution.
Maintain adequate staffing and optimize resource allocation for projects ensuring team utilization targets are met.
Ensure technical work is completed within project budget.
Maintain effective communication with project managers clients and other departments.
Document technical processes and collaborate with stakeholders as needed.
Implement and oversee quality control processes ensuring high standards.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Contribute to the organizations technical strategy and forecast future needs.
Other duties as assigned.


Supervisory/Leadership Duties:

Effectively manage teams across multiple locations.
Oversee and coordinate multiple projects ensuring work is prioritized and deadlines are met.
Set clear expectations and provide ongoing respectful performance feedback through structured and realtime communication.
Support employee growth by facilitating career development skillbuilding and training opportunities.
Act as a coach by guiding and inspiring team members to enhance productivity and overcome challenges independently.
Serve as a mentor by sharing knowledge offering direction and fostering career progression.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Requirements
Education & Experience

B.S./B.A. degree in Civil Engineering or related field
815 years of professional experience
Professional licensure or ability to obtain licensure as appropriate for department or expertise
Prior staff management experience is preferred.
