The audit intern will assist in the of basic audit tasks under the close supervision of experienced auditors. The intern will gain handson experience in auditing processes and procedures focusing primarily on governmental clients.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in Audit Planning:
Participate in planning discussions to understand the objectives and scope of audit engagements.
Conduct preliminary reviews to support risk assessments.
Audit Testing:
Assist with performing basic audit tests and procedures on financial transactions and documents.
Help analyze accounting records and financial statements for accuracy and compliance under guidance.
Documentation:
Prepare organized work papers to document audit findings clearly and concisely.
Ensure documentation aligns with audit standards.
Data Analysis:
Utilize accounting software and tools to assist in analyzing financial data.
Identify basic trends or anomalies in financial data under supervision.
Reporting:
Support senior auditors in preparing draft audit reports.
Communicate findings and seek clarification or guidance where needed.
Client Interaction:
Maintain professional communication when interacting with clients.
Assist in collecting documentation and information from client personnel.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Accounting.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
Strong analytical organizational and problemsolving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
