Job Duties:

  • Utilizes current nursing practices to provide total patient care while focusing on the needs of the patient and exemplifying the service excellence goals of care concern respect and cooperation. As a contributing member of a health care team functions in the role of patient advocate by being in the position of initial contact for patientrelated issues
  • Patient Assessment Functions in the role of patient advocate by being in the position of initial contact for patientrelated issues. Clarifies and implements physician orders by administering medications and performing/ordering treatments and testing as prescribed by the physician
  • Patient Care Reviews and evaluates plan of care obtains information from patient and/or family and adds to plan of care as appropriate. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team the patient and family to promote efficient patient care. Provides for the physical cultural and psychosocial needs of the patient and family. Integrates evidencebased practice and professional standards whenever possible. Serves as a champion for patient safety by continually observing and monitoring the clinical environment and assuring that safety goals and standards are considered when providing care in the practice setting
  • Communication Performs required documentation and communicates in a competent and effective manner to meet patient and/or family needs and regulatory requirements. Protects confidentiality of patients Personal Health Information (PHI)
  • Work Flow Assists with the daily oversight of other clinical staff (other nurse and nonnurse staff members) when directed by the manager to maximize work flow in the practice. Provides feedback to the manager when requested regarding workrelated skills of nonlicensed personnel. Serves as a mentor and preceptor for new staff and as a constant resource to nonlicensed or nonnurse personnel. Remains flexible with work assignments throughout the clinical site to assure appropriate coverage to meet staffing and patient care needs

Requirements:

  • Current and unrestricted RN license in Illinois
  • Must have at least 1 year of hospital experience.
  • Have experience with clients on ventilators and maintaining the settings.
  • Must have experience with tracheotomy care and suctioning.
  • Report changes/abnormalities to family & physician.
  • Ability to crush prescribed medications.
  • Ability to assist with nebulizer treatments.
  • Perform dressing change.
  • Must be able to work 12hour shifts including weekends: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Reliable car / auto insurance
  • Clean background and criminal record
  • Recent Physical TB/Chest Xray on record
