Job Title: Accountant Billing
Overview:
We are a $160 million nonprofit organization with over $100 million in annual billing. We seek an Accountant specializing in Behavioral Health insurance billing and Medicaid Managed Care billing. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Net Smart for Behavioral Health and play a key role in financial operations ensuring accuracy in billing reconciliation and reporting.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage accounts receivable including cash/denial postings and followup on MCO insurance claims.
Independently create and maintain spreadsheets and databases to streamline billing processes.
Support corporate financial statement preparation and ensure subsidiary financials are accurate and balanced.
Prepare and post recurring and adjusting journal entries related to billing operations.
Assist with internal and external audits financial ratio analysis and yearend projections.
Communicate effectively with staff and leadership regarding financial matters.
Ensure compliance with Medicaid Managed Care and Behavioral Health insurance billing regulations.
Utilize Net Smart for Behavioral Health to manage and analyze billing data.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Associates degree in Accounting or related field with at least 1 year of experience or a Bachelors degree.
Experience in nonprofit accounting preferred.
Strong understanding of Behavioral Health insurance billing and Medicaid Managed Care billing.
Proficiency in Net Smart for Behavioral Health.
Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with financial database software; Ceridian Dayforce experience preferred.
Strong analytical problemsolving and communication skills.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer.
Capable of working in an openspace office environment.
Occasional lifting of 25 pounds.
Ability to navigate tight spaces and move throughout the workplace as needed.
