Job Title:0.6 FTE MFM Diagnostic Sonographer OBGYN Central Park

Job Summary:

The MFM Diagnostic Sonographer performs independent diagnostic ultrasound examinations on highrisk obstetrical patients who will be subsequently evaluated and treated by a Maternal Fetal Medicine attending physician preparing preliminary reports for physician review and verifying data obtained from the sonogram. As needed you may train staff in the retrieval of records to facilitate requests from referring physicians or fellow sonographers. You will work cooperatively with the Medical Directors Perinatologists fellow Sonographers and the administrative team to ensure high patient and referring physician satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • At the direction of a qualified physician or advance practice provider (APP) performs independent diagnostic ultrasound examinations requiring independent judgment and initiative in the utilization of ultrasonic equipment for diagnostic ultrasound examinations on highrisk obstetrical patients.
  • Reviews patient history and physicians orders to perform prescribed study.
  • Monitors records and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care including patient transfer discharge referral and attending to all agerelated physical spiritual and psychosocial needs.
  • Evaluates the learning needs of the patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age culture condition and circumstances.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures equipment and exams to ensure patients understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • 46 years of ultrasound technician experience.

A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted on a yearforyear basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 years of vascular ultrasound technician experience in outpatient obstetrics.
  • Bilingual Spanishspeaking.
  • Epic and Kronos experience.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Fetal Echo Training within 12 months of hire.
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
  • Registered as a Technologist (RT) and certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). State licensure if required by law.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross healthcare providerlevel CPR certification.
  • Maintains all required licensure and certifications for the position.
  • Maintains all required continuing education requirements.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels including physicians leadership and staff within the various affiliate organizations (UCH Childrens Colorado CU Medicine CU SOM).
  • Ability to work within large complex healthcare systems.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to compile complex reports and develop presentations.
  • Ability to compose letters and memorandums.
  • Ability to deal calmly and courteously with people.
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations.

The starting salary range or hiring range for this position has been established as

$52416 (calculated for 0.6 FTE).
