Role Overview
As our Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer forCoupang Media Group for our AdsQualityyou will be responsible for developing designingmachine learning models optimization algorithms and new product featuresfor our advertising platform.
The Coupang Media Group (CMG) is responsible for providing vendors that sell their products on Coupang with a host of marketing products and services. Our group is responsible for advertising brands and products inside our ecommerce website.
This is an opportunity to be part of building up a new development organization with strong revenue potential inside a successful company. Were building fullstack engineering teams to handle large scale advertising problems including realtime behavioral targeting auctioning and bidding systems andsearchbasedadvertising.
In this role you will be responsible forinnovatingand buildingour new adquality stackfor our ads platformand eventually extend it into a full ad exchange DSP and SSP.
What You Will do
- Design features and build largescale machine learning modelsand systemsto improve ad targeting relevancerankingand engagement
- Develop new techniques forautomatedmechanisms e.g.automatedbidding query expansionetc.for improving advertisingplatformefficiency
- Develop new techniques forproviding suggestionsfor advertiserstoidentify opportunities in the marketplace and improve their return oninvestments
- Architectour machine learningplatformatinternet scale
- Effectively leadprojects across teamsand mentor the junior developers
- Work with product and sales teams to design and implement new ad productfeatures
Basic Qualifications
- 10 years of industry software engineering experiencein machine learningstatisticsinformation retrieval
- Deep knowledge inmachine learning deep learning and statistical modeling
- Excellent communicator both to technical and business audiences
- Strong problemsolving skills
- Self starter and innovator who likes to solve complex problems
- Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results
- Ability to deal with ambiguity in business and technology
- Ability to work in multicultural cross functional team
- Bachelors degree in computer science engineering mathematics physics science or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with AWS (Amazon web services)
- Experience with advertising systems/Search advertising/Advertising Marketplace
- Experience working in startups
Pay & Benefits
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang your base pay is one part of your total compensation.
The base pay for this position ranges from $159000/year in our lowest geographic market to $324000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending onjobrelated knowledge skills and experience.
