Our mission is to provide essential services that remove barriers strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare. We do this through three core programs Ronald McDonald House Ronald McDonald Family Rooms and our Hospitality Cart with a Heart. RMHCDC is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child. Position Overview:
The Vice President of Marketing and Communications is a critical leadership role and a driving force in shaping the future of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington DC (RMHCDC). Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Vice President will serve on the executive team and collaborate closely with the President & CEO the Board of Directors and a dedicated development team to realize a bold vision for RMHCDCs future.
The Vice President will develop and execute a comprehensive and creative communications and engagement strategy to enhance the organizations visibility engage relevant stakeholders and drive impact for our mission. They will support fundraising efforts through storytelling brand stewardship communication and collaborative engagement.
The Vice President is responsible for the development integration and implementation of a broad range of Marketing and Communications (MarComms) activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership. They will be an ambassador for the organization and will need to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The person in this role is responsible for leading a nimble MarComms team providing guidance support and overall strategy.
Supervisory Responsibilities and/or Collaborative Responsibilities:
The Vice President will supervise the Digital Fundraising Manager independent contractors and work collaboratively with Development Community Engagement House Operations and Finance.
Essential Functions:
Develops and implements a worldclass creative and strategic communications and marketing strategy that propels the organizations mission and goals builds RMHCDCs profile and identifies new channels partnerships and platforms to reach and engage priority audiences in key markets.
Oversees brand identity and messaging and ensures consistency across all platforms. Leads initiatives to strengthen brand recognition and reputation.
Drives the organizations digital marketing strategy including social media email campaigns website management and SEO. Utilizes analytics to measure effectiveness and optimize performance.
Leads the overall management of the Direct Mail program including overseeing the Direct Mail contract.
Works closely with the VP of Development to develop marketing campaigns and communications that drive prospect and donor engagement increase contributions and promote fundraising events. Writes copy for proposals annual reports and impact reports; oversees donors stewardship and recognition utilizing website social media and events.
Oversees the creation of compelling content including advertising newsletters reports and promotional materials. Ensures all content aligns with the organizations mission and resonates with target audiences.
Implements market research tools to help RMHCDC better understand and define its audiences and measure the success of its marketing and communications initiatives.
Cultivates builds and sustains strong strategic partnerships with private public and nonprofit organizations that share our mission and objectives and are committed to driving impact.
Provides mentorship guidance and professional development opportunities to team members.
Ensures consistent reporting on goals KPIs and results.
Proactively creates RMHCDCs campaign strategy for maximum impact cost effective and excellent brand reinforcement. Implement campaigns leveraging our staff sponsors and partners.
Develops and implements crisis communication strategies to effectively manage and mitigate the impact of unforeseen events on the organizations reputation. Collaborates with internal teams to ensure timely and transparent messaging to stakeholders during crises.

The Details:
Position Location: Local to the Greater Washington DC area. This position will work a hybrid schedule with significant regional travel expectations and occasional national travel. Evenings and weekend work required on occasion.
Salary Range: $110000 to $132000

Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelors Degree Advanced Degree preferred.
10 years of relevant experience in marketing and communications in the nonprofit sector demonstrating progressive career growth.
Proficient in Neon CRM (or similar database) MS Office Suite Google Analytics Constant Contact (or similar platform) Word Press Adobe Creative Suite Canva Memory Fox social media platforms and project management software; is willing and able to learn new programs.
Proven success in translating organizational vision and highlevel objectives into actionable multichannel MarComms plans with clear goals and KPIs that measure impact.
Extensive successful writing and editing experience with a variety of print and digital communications media.
Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top tier reporters and editors and in successfully positioning subject matter with the media to achieve highimpact placements.
