Job Description
Overview
Hydrow is seeking a skilled and adaptable Senior Quality Engineer to support the development introduction and ongoing quality of our innovative connected fitness products. This role will play a critical part in ensuring product reliability safety and performance across both new product development and supporting existing Hydrow product lines.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in quality engineering electromechanical systems and manufacturing with the ability to collaborate crossfunctionally to drive continuous improvement. They should be comfortable working autonomously making independent decisions in their area of expertise while also knowing when to leverage the support of their team for highimpact or unfamiliar situations.
New Product Introduction (NPI) Quality
Work closely with hardware and software engineering manufacturing and customer support teams to spot potential issues early implement improvements and make sure realworld feedback helps shape product development.
Lead and execute qualification and reliability testing to ensure product readiness for manufacturing and launch.
Facilitate risk assessments and validation reviews to identify and mitigate potential quality and safety concerns.
Develop and implement quality controls and inspection plans in collaboration with contract manufacturers and internal teams.
Coordinate regulatory and product safety efforts working with legal counsel and external certification bodies.
Monitor quality metrics during early production stages analyze data and recommend design or process improvements to enhance reliability.
Sustaining and Operational Quality
Oversee the quality and performance of inmarket products ensuring customer satisfaction and longterm reliability.
Improve and develop internal quality processes to enhance product reliability streamline defect resolution and ensure consistent quality standards across all products.
Maintain clear and timely communication with stakeholders providing visibility into quality metrics and escalating critical issues when necessary.
Track and analyze field performance data including the evaluation of returned products to identify trends resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with customer support hardware engineering and field service teams to address and prevent recurring quality concerns.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by developing and refining internal quality processes ensuring lessons learned are integrated into future product designs and manufacturing workflows.
Skills and Qualifications
57 years of experience in quality engineering with a focus on new product introduction and sustaining quality disciplines.
Strong technical foundation in electromechanical systems and manufacturing quality principles.
Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies (e.g. FMEA) validation processes and product safety strategies.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a datadriven approach to decisionmaking.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work across multiple disciplines.
Experiencing working with manufacturing partners in Asia and ability to take evening and morning calls as needed.
Selfstarter with a proactive attitude capable of balancing independent work and team coordination.
Experience with PLM systems and regulatory certifications.
Experience with complex consumer electronics is a plus.
