About The Role
We are seeking a Distribution Center Assistant Manager who is responsible for assisting the Distribution Center Manager in overseeing all distribution operations and employees. This role reports directly to the Distribution Center Manager and is part of the Operations Department based in Greensboro North Carolina. All personnel employed at our North Carolina office are expected to commute to their designated location and carry out their work responsibilities onsite.

What You Will Do
The Distribution Center Assistant Manager is a critical position responsible for ensuring efficient warehouse operations. They handle order processing maintain inventory and ensure a safe workspace. Their duties encompass managing shipments staging orders and coordinating with truckers. Additionally they step in for the manager overseeing the warehouse team fostering teamwork developing training programs and providing valuable feedback for performance improvements. This role is pivotal in maintaining a wellorganized efficient and safe warehouse environment.
Position Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations Management
- Process daily orders through the system including hourly checks of UPS and FedEx shipments.
- Handle freight orders received via email from New York ensuring timely processing.
- Verify and confirm that all cartons for UPS and FedEx are pulled and manifested.
- Assign bill of lading and apply green tags with customer information bill of lading details and trucker information for freight orders.
- Provide special shipping instructions for labeling and skidding of orders.
- Stage orders to be pulled by due dates and assist colleagues in the orderpulling process.
- Verify counts and assist in staging all outgoing orders to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Confirm and ensure that outgoing freight is handled correctly by truckers and that all bills of lading are signed accurately.
- Scan and confirm bill of ladings once shipments have left the building.
- Maintain a clean and hazardfree workspace ensuring safety in the aisles.
- Arrive ten minutes before the start of each shift.
- Be willing to handle freight and work outside the office area as required.
- Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays during peak seasons.
Team Leadership and Development
- In the absence of the Distribution Center Manager provide support in supervising and guiding the warehouse staff which includes tasks like hiring training and assigning responsibilities as well as conducting performance evaluations.
- Step in to foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork open communication and maintains high employee morale.
- Assist the Distribution Center Manager in developing and implementing training programs designed to enhance staff skills and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Help the warehouse team meet their goals by providing regular feedback and coaching to drive performance improvements.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to perform essential job duties in a nonclimatecontrolled environment.

What You Will Need
- Must be able to read write and speak English.
- Supervisory skills such as leadership clear and effective communication decisionmaking and planning and organizing.
- Knowledge of OSHA Rules and Regulations. Experience with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards including warehouse safety protocols hazard communication and compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Ability to lift load and deliver merchandise.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs including holidays evenings and weekend shifts.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED and at least 5 years experience in a supervisor role in a warehouse work environment.
Nice to have but not required
- Supply Chain and Warehouse Management Certificate
- Previous experience reporting to a supervisor who works remotely from a different location
Compensation Pay BandDistribution Center Assistant Manager I: $21.88 / hr $32.45 / hr
