(South) FullTime Bakery Supervisor
Italian Centre Shop is currently recruitingfor a Full Time Bakery Supervisor to join our growing team at our South location(A Street NW) in Edmonton AB.

Howyou help the team:
Technical Responsibilities
- Supervises and coordinates activities or workers engaged inmixing dividing molding and proofing of dough and in baking slicing andwrapping of bread pastries and other bakery products.
- Ensure the quality of products meets established standards.
- Determineand maintain sufficient levels of inventory to meet customer demand whileminimizing investment in inventory.
- Ensuredisplays are in place.
- Ensurethat the Bakery presents a clean and neat appearance and offers a safe pleasantand attractive place to shop.
- Ensureproper inventory methods are understood and being followed.
- Enforcesand follows the companys food safety and bakery cleaning and sanitization standards.
- Administrativetasks such as reviewing invoices ordering and documenting process andprocedures.
- Adheringto all food safety protocols standard operating procedures health and safetypolicies and other programs and initiatives.
- Otherduties as required.
Financial
- Assists with departmentplans and budgets including labour budgets achieved through effectivescheduling measuring results allocating resources reviewing progress andmaking midcourse corrections as required.
- Assists withpayroll for the department.
Team Building
- Builds astrong cohesive team where employees feel they contribute and are valued.
- Grows theirteam and empowers employees to make decisions on their own.
- Delegatesresponsibilities to their employees
- Identifies keyperformers and provides opportunities for growth development and advancement.
Staffing
- Supervisesthework of the bakery employees.
- Ensuresschedules are completed and posted for employees in a timely manner.
- In conjunctionwith Human Resources recruits and selects new bakery staff.
- Holds monthlystaff meetings to keep employees informed of operations and company news.
Employee Relations
- Providesemployee with regular feedback coaching & training and performanceevaluation.
- Follows upwith staff on any breach of company policy and ensure proper progressivediscipline forms are completed.
Training and Development
- Providesstandardized training for all new and existing employees including health and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Alberta Food Handling/FoodSafety Certificate required.
- High School orGED from an accredited school system or program is preferred.
- CertifiedBaker.
Experience
- Minimum four years experience in a bakery environment.
- Past supervisory experience is considered an asset.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledgeablein commercial bakery equipment
- Excellent listeningskills and communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability towork under pressure while maintaining a professional image at all times
- Workindependently with little direct supervision.
- Have awellbalanced concern for both task and people.
- Ability todelegate duties and responsibilities.
- Have a genuineconcern for needs of customers.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Job requiresemployee to work a variety of shifts including mornings days eveningsweekends and holidays.
- Also requiredto work with challenging customers and/or situations.
- Tasks areperformed in varying temperatures (i.e. near stoves and ovens in and out ofrefrigerators and freezers)
- Required towork around baking ingredients such as flour nuts etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Job requires avariety of standing walking and sitting.
- Job mayinclude manual and repetitive tasks.
- Lifting up to 22.5kg/50 lbs.
