Job Title: State General Manager
Visy is powering the circular economy closing the loop between packaging remanufacturing and recycling. Over 75 years weve grown to 7000 employees and 150 global operations predominately in Australia and New Zealand.
We believe materials are not recycled until theyve been made into new products. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper cardboard glass plastics and metals from households and businesses and locally remanufacture them back into new sustainable packaging. From cardboard boxes water bottles and jam jars to food and beverage cans we are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealands food and beverage packaging industry.
Role details:
As the State General Manager based in Melbourne this person will foster a zeroharm culture in workplace health and safety develop and execute the State strategic plan and oversee Sales Commercial and Operations. The operations consist of several manufacturing facilities and depots in Victoria and Tasmania and the role has Profit and loss accountability for the Victoria and Tasmania Business. The focus will ensure strengthening and maintaining customer relationships at all levels and to continuously improve quality cost and service delivery performance for Visys Customers.
What you will bring to the team:
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in manufacturing preferably in packaging with a proven track record in enhancing business performance. They will have a strong focus on safety and environmental responsibility and the ability to develop and execute strategic plans. Success in fostering a constructive achievementoriented culture and a deep understanding of customer needs and expectations are essential. The candidate should be innovative able to find novel solutions and perspectives and possess strong financial and commercial skills with a history of increasing profits.
Proficiency in analysing costs profits and market opportunities along with a commitment to maintaining high standards of excellence is required. They should be dedicated to achieving and maintaining quality standards skilled in establishing risk management strategies and knowledgeable about legislative and compliance requirements. Technical expertise in paper making and introducing new technologies effective communication skills the ability to make rational realistic and sound decisions and the ability to promote a clear sense of purpose and goal achievement are also important.
