Scheduling Details:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Outpatient Provider Duties: Provide psychiatry services at the WNY VAMCs Outpatient Clinic. Shifts will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except for Federal Holidays. Physician will provide treatment/evaluation/consultations to approximately 1012 scheduled patients per day in the regular outpatient clinic; 60 minutes for new patients and 30 minutes for follow up patients.
Inpatient Provider Duties: Psychiatrist will provide diagnostic/evaluation to approximately 78 patients in an acute psychiatric inpatient setting. Certification in ECT is preferred for the delivery of ECT as needed.
Physicians will be responsible for completing all documentation and closes all patient encounters in a timely manner by the end of shift utilizing the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS)
Physicians will be responsible for diagnosing treating and managing psychiatric patients according to current standards of care. Services to be performed include but are not limited to: performing assessments/examinations on initial encounters with unscheduled emergent urgent and new patients; coordinating patient treatment plans; ordering appropriate diagnostic tests; recommending patients for hospital admission; and documenting in the computerized medical record.
