Job Description
Angott Search Group is partnering with a nearly $500 million community bank in Northern Michigan to find an experienced Controller. Reporting to the SVP/CFO this leadership role oversees financial operations ensures regulatory compliance and provides strategic financial guidance to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the accounting department overseeing financial reporting reconciliations and internal controls.
- Prepare and review financial statements budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP FASB and banking regulations including Call Reports and Federal Reserve filings.
- Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to the CEO and SVP/CFO.
- Supervise regulatory reporting expense management and internal audits.
- Oversee correspondent bank accounts tax filings and mortgage servicing rights valuations.
- Serve as a key contributor to business continuity planning and organizational projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 5 years of senior financial management experience preferably in banking.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience managing large data sets.
- Excellent leadership analytical and communication skills.
