Job Description:
Broadcom is looking for a motivated Silicon Photonics PIC Design Engineer with excellent written and oral communication skills. This role will be responsible for the design simulation layout testing and systemlevel verification of silicon photonics components and circuits.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with design and layout engineers to develop integrated photonic circuits.
Utilize simulation tools including Ansys/ Lumerical Cadence Virtuoso design environment to validate designs.
Work with fab / process engineers to define and optimize device design and process monitoring structures.
Create test and qualification plans in collaboration with validation and quality engineers.
Validate link performance in coordination with EIC packaging and system architects.
Education:
Masters degree in Physics Electrical Engineering or Optics with 10 years of related experience or PhD with 7 years of related experience.
Experience:
Proficiency with photonics design and simulation tools such as Ansys / Lumerical Photon Design and Cadence Virtuoso.
Deep understanding of highspeed RF modeling and parametric extraction; experience with Ansys HFSS is desirable.
Handson experience with highspeed active optical devices such as MZM and MRM.
Handson experience with passive optical structures including couplers splitters PSR and WDM components.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $141000 $225000.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
