Job Description
We are looking for PAPER HANDLER (Preprint) for our Scarborough location Shift: 8 hrs Rotating shift(Days/Afternoon/Night) every 2 weeks and wage :$25.14
MANUFACTURING GENERAL LABOUR / PAPERHANDLER
Reporting to the Supervisor the PaperHandleris responsible for the transportation of the paperrolls to and from the Press area using a motorized clamp truck and the manual set up of rolls in the Press unwind section. Assist in job change overs including ink wash up.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transportation of paperrolls to and from the printing press using a motorized clamp truck.
- Load and unload paperrolls onto and from the paperprinting machine in a timely and precise manner
- Safely operate hoist to lift and install print cylinders
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on paperhandling equipment such as cleaning lubricating and minor adjustments to keep them in optimal working condition
- Set up and adjust the paperfeed and alignment mechanisms on the printing press working closely with the Press Operators to optimize printing performance and engages in all activity related to press setup
- Monitor papersupply levels during printing runs and replenish as necessary to avoid interruptions
- Identify and report any paperdefects damages or irregularities to supervisors to ensure high print quality and minimize waste
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while handling papermaterials and operating equipment to prevent incidents and ensure a safe work environment
- Assist in other general Labour tasks as needed in the production area
- All other duties as required
SAFETY:
- Ensure that work area is clean
- Complete all mandatory safety training
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
- Ensure that PPE is always in good shape
- Completion of daily lift truck inspection as required
- Operate equipment in a safe manner
- Report all incidents and/or accidents to the Supervisor on duty immediately
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to do repetitive lifting bending and stair climbing
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work autonomously and with little direction
- Detail oriented
- Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems in a fastpaced environment
- Valid Forklift License
