Role Description
The Protein Discovery and Bioanalytics Team (Protein Therapeutics) is seeking a talented biochemist with experience in antibody screening. This scientist will be part of a multidisciplinary team assisting with culturing and transfecting cells developing biochemical methods and highthroughput assays supporting efforts on the automation of protein expression purification characterization and data analysis. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in a matrixed team environment and will collaborate with other teams across the organization.
Experience with molecular biology proteinprotein interactions display technologies and in vitro methods predicting in vivo activity is an advantage but not required. Excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Culturing and transfecting mammalian cells
- Developing biochemical assays
- Isolating and working with primary immunological cells
- Supporting efforts on the automation of protein expression purification and data analysis
- Collaborating with other teams across the organization on multiple scientific disciplines
- Critical thinking and excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
- Directly communicate with internal and external partners for collaborations and outsourcing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Educational background: BS or MS or PhD (molecular or cellular biology biochemistry immunology or related field).
- Experience in biochemistry highthroughput assays and mammalian protein expression
- Experience with primary immunological cell isolation and culturing
- Expertise in flow cytometry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to design interpret and present complex scientific data in a team environment is required
- Ability to work independently with ambiguity and as part of a team selfmotivation adaptability and a positive attitude
- Selfstarter able to prioritize work and work efficiently design experiments with minimal supervision and able work across teams remotely and facetoface.
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Word Excel Outlook

Work environment:
The placement of this position will be primarily in Fort Collins CO and is a labbased position. Occasional travel to R&D headquarters in Kalamazoo MI may also be requested.
The person filling this position will work in a laboratory setting. There may be exposure to animal pathogens and chemicals. There may be handling of and/or exposure to animal tissue and zoonotic organisms.
