We currently have a number of casual opportunities for Catering Assistants to join our hospital team based in Waratah. Previous catering or similar experience flexibility and ability to work in a fast paced environment with knowledge of food preparation and food safety is desirable however we are very willing to train interested candidates new to the industry.
To be considered for this role our ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate:
- Previous hospital and/or aged care Catering Assistant experience or the genuine desire to learn
- Ability and desire to work within the site based Mental Health Centre
- Ability to prepare and serve food items in accordance with strict food safety guidelines
- Demonstrated knowledge of hygiene standards and Workplace Health and Safety
- Ability to work unsupervised (following site based training)
- Commitment to respond to customer requests in a timely and friendly manner
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills
- A discreet and respectful manner
- High level of personal presentation and hygiene
- Flexibility to work shifts during the weekdays and weekends
In line with the required legislation a valid and current criminal record check along with a staff health clearance will be required as part of the standard recruitment and selection process for this position.
