Overview:
The Child Abuse Prevention Intervention and Treatment (CAPIT) therapist is responsible for conductingculturally sensitive traumainformedtreatment for groupsindividuals and families of all ages who have experienced/witnessedchild maltreatmentdomestic violence and orsexual in a multidisciplinary setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of a licensed Clinical Supervisor the therapist will conduct inperson counseling on a weekly basis and/or provide Telehealth services or inoffice services for clients enrolled in the CAPIT program. The counselor will utilize a strengthbased model to 1 assess child and family needs; 2 address child maltreatment risk factors and/or causes of identified child maltreatment; 3 design interventions to promote child safety enhance parental capacity/parental protective factors and build on family strengths; 4 identify and respond to red flag issues and crises; 5 provide appropriate referrals and linkages; 6 advocate for children and families; and provide other services as required/suggested by the Clinical Supervisor. Counselor may be required to attend Child and Family Team (CFT) or Multidisciplinary Case Planning Committee (MCPC) meetings for Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS)referred families. The CAPIT Counselor will complete required case documentation in a quality timely manner following all program and agency requirements and meeting all deadlines; will coordinate provision of CAPIT services to meet the referral needs of the Family Empowerment Services and Sexual and Family Violence Recovery Clinical Program Mangers; may additionally provide onsite counseling services as needed (CAPIT Victims of Crime); and will perform other related duties as assigned including but not limited to providing backup/coverage for counselors across agency programs.
Qualifications:
Must possess a Masters Degree from an accredited institution in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy. Must be registered as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist Associate Professional Clinical Counselor or Associate Clinical Social Workerby the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Must have completed or be willing to complete State Certification in Domestic Violence and Sexual . Must have knowledge of standard computer programs (Microsoft Office) and of accessing the internet. Must pass a criminal clearance. Must have transportation and a valid CA drivers license. Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Ability to conduct a variety of standard psychological assessments upon receiving training; prepare professional reports in a timely manner; establish mutually respectful relationships in a multidisciplinary team environment; maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job; exercise independent judgment and discretion; make diagnostic and intervention suggestions; triage or prioritize client problems; understand and adhere to professional ethics; analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action; determine appropriate courses of action and proper techniques to utilize while engaged with individuals in interactions of a sensitive nature; interpret and evaluate descriptions and explanations of problems; analyze and define problems draw valid conclusions and project consequences of various alternative courses of action; speak effectively; write narrative reports; utilize supervision effectively; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals and organizations. Requires working knowledge of the principles practices and trends in the fields of psychological assessment and counseling; crisis intervention techniques; etiology and treatment of abuse in families; specific counseling techniques used in the treatment of children and families and of those impacted by child maltreatment and sexual and domestic violence; advocacy issues related to treatment of victims of crime; community resources relating to client needs; and ability to work well with persons of varying economic levels cultures religions ethnicities and lifestyles.

Work is performed in an office setting with a lowtomoderate noise level; employee will need to utilize their personal vehicle for travel to and from meetings outside the office; employee must regularly communicate by telephone written communications and inperson with staff families served partners funders and other professionals; occasionally lift carry and position objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Pay Benefits & Work Schedule
This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).
The anticipated hiring range: $23.55 $33.24 / hour
Time Base: PartTime 20 hours per week)
