About the opportunity
We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join the Platform Engineering Domain in the Streaming team.
The mission of Platform Engineering is to provide trusted performant selfservice platforms that empower product teams to build the bank the world loves to use. Streamings part of this mission is to develop the best solutions for asynchronous communications.
Our crossfunctional teams are passionate about collaboration and sharing knowledge as well as working with a high degree of autonomy.
As a Backend Engineer at N26 you will be encouraged to embrace the latest technological updates and given a platform to work on complex interesting problems on a daily basis.
As one of the first banks completely hosted in the cloud our security resilience and productivity standards require not only the use of a modern technology stack but the building of teams in line with our principles and in the service of our product teams the company and our customers.
In this role you will:
- Design develop test deploy and maintain software in a thriving environment.
- Collaborate closely with your Tech Lead on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology.
- Work within your crossfunctional team to uphold the highest technical standards right across the product.
What you need to be successful:
- Experience in developing software using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot in largescale production systems.
- Handson experience developing and/or operating event streaming platforms (preferably Kafka and Flink).
- Solid experience with software development best practices and software architectures (Distributed systems Domain Driven Design Testing).
- Previous experience with cloud architectures preferably with AWS.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Experience with Lakehouse products
